Latitude is pleased to announce our dedicated brokerage services based out of Vero Beach, Florida.

Building on our strong Florida successes, Latitude is expanding our services – In Vero Beach Florida!

Our new remote Florida office is headed up by Gene Magnetti.  Gene recently moved to Vero Beach from Mamaroneck, NY where he and his family enjoyed Long Island Sound and East Coast Cruising on his sail and powerboats.  He has been a Latitude team member and has been a yacht broker assisting sailors and powerboaters for 14 years.  He is fully licensed and bonded as required by the State of Florida.

Boating has always appealed to those who enjoy the freedom and unrestricted movement that being out on the water provides. Those qualities are now more sought after than ever by many people.  The harsh Northern winters keep the boating season very limited, many are extending their season by coming South either seasonally, or permanently.

In addition, when searching for a particular boat, there often are opportunities in other geographic areas that are difficult to evaluate without being there.  Our Florida coverage makes it easier to secure Florida boats for Northern boaters and Northern boats for Florida boaters.  Since we have expanded our coverage in both areas, we can offer our assistance in better coordinating and making these long distance transactions a reality.

Scott holds a 100-Ton Masters License and has clocked over 100,000 miles at sea.  He’s run well-known sailing vessels such as the custom built 80’ Goshawk as well as many Oyster yachts throughout the US, Caribbean and Europe.

For over 10 years he’s been managing motor yachts and helping owners with training, trip planning and finding the best boat for their wants and needs.  With all of this experience he has gained a wealth of knowledge making him invaluable to clients.  He is still just as passionate and excited about the boating world now as he was at the age of 10.

Scott grew up in the Boston area, summered on Cape Cod, went to college in Newport, Rhode Island and lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It’s fair to say he knows and loves New England.

The team at East Passage Boatwrights is excited to announce that Hull #1 of the East Passage 24 made her debut at the 2021 Newport International Boat Show earlier this fall.

After turning heads at the boat show, including the editor of Soundings Magazine who put her on the cover of the December ’21 issue, the classically inspired and traditionally built all wooden hull was put to the test on Narragansett Bay for her sea trials.  Designed by Walt Ansel, who brought over three decades of experience as a shipwright at Mystic Seaport Museum, and powered by a Yanmar 150HP turbo diesel, Hull #1 exceeded everyone’s expectations effortlessly cruising at 15kts. And topping out at 24kts.

Hull #1 is available for sale and will be back on the water in the spring of 2022.  If you are interested in a sea trial, contact Carter Richardson at carter@latitudeyacht.com.
